What to Expect?

The AcuVision™ treatment program, offers three, five and ten-day treatment options. We recommend that all first-time patients come for two week (ten days of treatment) so we can get a full appreciation for the individual rate of response unique to each patient. If 10 days is not possible than depending on your situation, we may be able to adjust your initial treatment program. Follow up patients can choose from 3, 5 or 10 days based on your rate of vision recovery and your recommended maintenance schedule.

We start by reviewing the patient’s medical history and conduct a series of vision tests (reading acuity, visual field, eye pressure, OCTs’ contrast and color vision, etc.) to establish a baseline. Establishing a baseline prior to commencing treatment is critical to determine the effectiveness of the treatment. Approximately 90% of patients see measurable improvement within the initial series of treatment.
Treatment consists of multiple sessions per day, with an hour break between treatments. Treatment methods vary depending on the patient and eye condition and may include Micro Acupuncture 48, Acu-laser therapy, Electro-Acupuncture and Auricular acupuncture and Micro Current Stimulation. Nutritional supplements and Chinese herbs may also be provided to help amplify and accelerate results.

Treatment sessions are repeated the following week to complete the two-week program. During the first week, Dr. Rosenfarb offers a patient education lecture every Wednesday afternoon which is mandatory for new patients and options for return patients.

At the end of the treatment program, patients are provided with diet, lifestyle and supplement recommendations designed to address underlying health conditions, nourish their eyes and help maintain and preserve vision.

Ongoing Treatment/Maintenance

New patients must understand that this is not a “miracle cure.” It can take time for some patients to see results where others see improvements right away, especially for advanced cases.

Once we recover whatever lost vision we can, the goal is to then preserve the remaining eyesight through maintenance treatments. Neuro-Degenerative eye conditions usually need some degree of ongoing maintenance and will only get worse if neglected.

The frequency of maintenance visits will vary and depend on the patients individual case. Most patients return for treatment every few months for the first year, then continue with maintenance treatments once or twice a year, or whatever treatment frequency is recommended for your specific case.
