Doctor, I’m Going Blind. Why Won’t You Talk to Me?

Last week the New York Times came out with a concerning article about an escalating problem for folks dealing with eye conditions and vision loss.

Eye Doctors are simply not listening to patients, lacking empathy and just not giving patients the time of day.

The article was titled, “Doctor, I’m Going Blind. Why Won’t You Talk to Me?

This is an extremely powerful and relevant article for patients struggling with vision loss.

So many of my patients complain that their eye doctors never take the time to talk to them about their vision. Specifically, what that can do and what caused this situation.

Quick remarks like “It’s Genetic” and “It’s Old Age” are just not good enough when it comes to a professional explanation.

We are dedicated and fully committed to educating our patients and their loved ones about all aspects of their diagnosis.

It is very important to us that you know all about the situation regarding your vision – including the underlying factors and root-cause of these devastating conditions.

We constantly work to educate patients about what can be done to recover and prevent further vision loss.

If yo ask questions and your doctor blows you off, then find another eye doctor that will give you the time of day.

I most cases, your TOP eye specialist is just as good as the AVERAGE specialist in the sense that they are both offering patients the same thing … which is NOTHING at this point in time.

Your doctor needs to be an advocate for you – The End!
